Diabetes Insipidus
SYMPTOMS include excessive thirst and urination, drinking and eliminating
as much as 40 quarts of fluids each day.
CAUSES. A deficiency of pituitary hormone (called vasopressin) needed by the
kidneys for regular reabsorption of water from the urine. May be congenital
or the result of tumor, injury or infection.
TREATMENT. Medication will be prescribed for effective control.
